Mnemofume (R-day Off)Mnemofume (R-day Off)

A young woman is suffering from memory withdrawal. When she finds a new dealer who injects her with corrupted memories, she finally manages to find relief.

In 2035, memories can be manipulated through technology. The process was quickly outlawed, leading to the rapid growth of a thriving black market. Memories have become the new drug of the decade.
Clara is a lonely young woman living in a small camper van. She is addicted to REMEMBER DAYS—memories with very low levels of corruption and an average purity of around 80%. By now, she has run out of money, even after selling her own memories to support her habit.
One day, she contacts her trusted dealer and asks if he can front her a new dose on credit. He refuses, but offers her a cheaper alternative instead: REMEMBER U, claiming it will give her the same high. Clara agrees.
She injects the memories. The product is low quality. The memories are fragmented, distorted, and shattered, decaying into the emptiness of her mind. Yet Clara feels relieved—intoxicated, liberated.
She moves through the sadness of the world around her. For the first time in a long while, she feels as though she can finally live.
