A real, deep need that guided the entire research and design process, transforming the domestic space into a sensitive and inclusive ground for experimentation.

The two designers developed two complementary concepts : a proposal for partial renovation, based on careful integration with existing furnishings, and a total vision, which envisions a more radical recomposition of the apartment.

Concept 1 – A tubular system that becomes support, orientation, possibility

Starting from the well-defined style of the patient, the project introduces a red tubular system that runs through the rooms with continuity.
A kind of fluid handle, which offers constant support and becomes at the same time functional and poetic infrastructure.
The system dialogues with the existing furniture and integrates without distorting, offering new ways of living and moving in the space. Various elements can be grafted onto this tubular line:

– lighting fixtures to improve perception and safety;

– Tabletops for daily activities;

– vases and decorative components that accompany the eye;

– cat accessories to keep the emotional and domestic relationship alive.

The result is a flexible and customizable system, both in color and components, capable of combining function, aesthetics and care.

Concept 2 – A complete transformation that rebuilds the relationship with the home

The second part of the project further develops the intuition of the tubular system:
the tubes change color, size, and role, becoming the generators of new environments that integrate with the existing ones.
This proposal involves a total renovation of the dwelling, intervening in the structure itself:

– Removal of some walls to expand the perception of space;

– creation of a central study area, the operational and symbolic heart of the house;

– a layout that organizes furniture around the main room, simplifying every movement and ensuring smooth mobility even in a wheelchair.

The style remains consistent with the preferences of the person living in the house, ensuring visual continuity and emotional comfort.
The new central core of the studio, with warm colors, intentionally contrasts with the exterior, creating a cozy and protective environment that invites concentration, work and serenity.

A new way of seeing what we experience every day

“The most difficult thing in the world is to see with new eyes what is in front of us every day.”- Bruno Munari

With Clinging Back to the Home, the project authors show how design can become a gesture of care, a bridge between fragility and autonomy, an invitation to rediscover the home as a space of relationship, security and identity.

The project will be on display at the MAXXI Museum in Rome from December 5 to 8 (free admission).

Download PDFs

["post-5054","progetto","type-progetto","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
