A journey through the sounds of contemporary jazz, where talent and experimentation come together in a unique experience of composition and improvisation. This year, Jazz Factory is enriched with a special novelty: a tribute to the music of Federico Fellini’s films. The event is part of the Grand Tour AFAM project, in which Saint Louis is a partner, and is realized in collaboration with RUFA, Rome University of fine artses – project leader – Accademia del Lusso and STM Scuola del Teatro Musicale.

At the opening, the Saint Louis Big Band will perform some of the famous soundtracks from Fellini’s masterpieces, accompanied by a projection of Federico Fellini’s animated drawings by RUFA. To enrich the experience, actors from the STM School of Musical Theater will perform a monologue inspired by the Fellini universe, with costumes made by the Academy of Luxury for the occasion.

After the tribute to the great director, the event will continue in its traditional format: on stage, the Saint Louis Big Band conducted by Maestro Antonio Solimene will bring to life the original works of the talented students of the Two-Year Level II Program in Jazz Composition and Arrangement. An unmissable event for those who love the new frontiers of music and want to be carried away by the energy of the Big Band, on this occasion directed by the young authors of the compositions themselves.

Jazz Factory is much more than a concert: it is a laboratory where ideas take shape, where sounds are transformed into emotions and the audience becomes an integral part of an ever-evolving musical narrative.

Original compositions by Saint Louis students: Basilio Roselli, Francesco Faina, Antonio Ottaviano, Federico Cutrone, Rosario Moricca

Arrangements of soundtracks from Fellini’s films by: Luca Prost, Domenico Migliori and Giovanni Cretella

All songs in the concert are performed by the Saint Louis Big Band conducted by Antonio Solimene:

Marco Palmisano piano
Elena Brandes voice
Rosario Moricca guitar
Francesco Faina guitar
Emanuele Macculi bass
Pietro Bagaloni drums
Sax: Andrea Cardone, Edoardo Donato, Alessio Castaldi, Ayan Koffee, Dario Fagiolo
Trumpets: Mario Careddu, Giulio Mari, Martino Vanin, Leonardo Piga
Trombones: Stefano Coccia, Palmiro Del Brocco, Carmine Pagano, Diego Cataldo

With the participation of:

RUFA students Coordinated by Alessandro Carpentieri:

Marta Di Pietrantonio

Matthew Pilloni

Michele Quondam Pasquale

Moon Ragusa

Musical Theater School students coordinated by institution director and director Marco Iacomelli:

Eleonora G.
