Spazio Bitridimensionale

Project

Design

” Spazio Bitridimensionale ” by IUAD student Michela Donnino, is a GTA Contest finalist project.

The project was born from the encounter between neorealism, uncanny transposition-from the English, “strange or mysterious, especially in a disturbing sense”- and a fascination with aesthetics belonging to bygone eras.

The look reinterprets a dress by fashion designer Roberta di Camerino from the 1970s in which the Trompe l’Oeil technique was used to artificially combine the overlapping skirt, blouse, jacket, and scarf in a single jersey dress. This confirmatory act typical of his clothes aroused my curiosity, mainly because of the ironic, sarcastic nature I perceive behind the stylistic choice.

The project is titled “Spazio Bitridimensionale ” because the core of the concept lies in the contrast between 2D and 3D, in fact in the designed look the dress undergoes the reverse creative process of the initial one, so it will consist of jacket, skirt, shirt and scarf, which will be “crushed” and “imprinted”-in a Bitridimensional way-through a transparent tulle dress that, adhering to the body, will make the classic female uniform Extraordinary. The iconic “R”-shaped belt wraps around the body, as if to confirm its aesthetic key.
