Stop. Breathe

“I am wearing a red, glittery, floor-length evening dress, and on my feet I am wearing high, silver heels. The makeup is impeccable. I look very beautiful and well-groomed. I am in a cramped space with a short hallway that I start to walk back and forth over and over again. At each turn I run, running as hard as I can in my heels and long dress, always careful not to trip. Each time I try to beat my previous record, trying to run through that small space taking less and less time. I know I can go faster, do more, strive not to feel the pain caused by the high heels and even manage not to fall tripping because of them or the dress that does not allow me to move freely. I know I can do it, I’ve done it many times before, just grit my teeth a little and think that the only thing that matters is getting to the goal I set for myself. That then, if the goal is to run faster and faster, where is the finish line? How do I get there? How long can I keep going like this? How long will I last? How will I be in the end? I don’t know, I’ll just run in the meantime.”
The project along with all the others will be on display at the Maxxi in Rome Dec. 5-8 during the AFAM Grand Festival, the concluding event of the AFAM Grand Tour.
