Parco Kai: La natura è tecnologia is a finalist project in the international competition ❝ Ordinary is Extraordinary ❞, curated by Noemi Ciaravolo, Allegra Civardi, Benedetta Ferrari, Alma Innocenti and Aurora Maria Scalchi – students at NABA.
In a world where technology has always sought to dominate nature, Parco Kai presents itself as a place that celebrates the harmonious coexistence of humankind and the environment. A park that is not merely green, but a living experience of sustainability, innovation and community.
Based on Nature-Based Solutions, the park addresses environmental and social challenges with solutions which, despite their apparent simplicity, maintain the balance of our ecosystem. Parco Kai encourages coexistence with nature, promoting fundamental values such as respect, harmony and inclusion.
Each area of the park has its own identity and function: Heno, the meeting point; Tekne, for workshops and activities; Cuna, a sanctuary for animals; Gea, for moments of relaxation; Fulla, for children’s play; Fisis, for study; Litos, for sport.
The name Kai, which means ‘and’ in Greek, symbolises connection and unity – core values of the project. The park’s areas are easily recognisable thanks to integrated logos and signage, which combine aesthetics with functionality.
The shapes of the logos for the various areas form a recognisable visual element within the park, integrated into both the sustainable installations and the signage.
