A GTA Contest finalist project, ” Senza Età ” is the entry of Anita Falorni, a student at theModartech Institute.
With her collection, the author explores the theme of mature beauty and eccentric style of older women, challenging age-related prejudices and the standards imposed by contemporary fashion.
His “ideal lady” has top-quality flashy historical garments in her closet that she loves to wear when the occasion arises. She wears them naturally, without worrying about the judgment of others.
The project grew out of field research: Anita interviewed guests at the Ciapetti Retirement Home in Castelfiorentino, members of the Auser in Gambassi Terme, and a “super 80-year-old grandmother,” Laura, to understand the personal and social significance of fashion in old age.
His visual and cultural inspirations draw on iconic figures such as Iris Apfel and Loredana Bertè, symbols of expressive freedom and nonconformity.
The collection will be exhibited, along with the other finalist projects, at MAXXI – National Museum of XXI Century Arts, from December 5 to 8, during the Grand Festival AFAM.
