Teatro Sociale - Via Vincenzo Bellini, 1
Palazzo del Broletto - Piazza del Duomo, 2 - Como

After Ancona and Pontedera, The AFAM Roadshow . – Research. Creativity. Innovation continues its cultural journey between art, technology and higher education by stopping in Como on May 22, with a full day of meetings, lectio magistralis, exhibitions and panel discussions. The event takes place in two historic venues in the city center: the Sala Bianca of the Teatro Sociale and the Palazzo del Broletto . Promoted by CNR ISPC, RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts and Accademia di Como, the event enjoys the free patronage of the Larian Municipality and Como UNESCO Creative City.

Dimensions is the key word that orients all the day’s events, evoking a reflection on the multiple scales of reading, fruition, study and conservation of cultural heritage . Between real and virtual, surface and depth, detail and whole, Dimensions invites to explore the dialogue between craft tradition, scientific research and new technologies. The experiences proposed in Como traverse restoration, design, architecture and contemporary art, with a specific focus on the city’s cultural and productive fabric and its ability to renew itself.

The event opens at 9 a.m. with the Opening, inaugural ceremony in the Sala Bianca of the Teatro Sociale, in which the themes and appointments of the entire day are introduced, preceded by institutional greetings. Enrico Colombo (Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Como), Fabio Mongelli (Director RUFA), Cristina Casaschi (Director Como Academy) and Costanza Miliani (Acting Director CNR ISPC) will welcome the guests.

At 11:15 a.m., after coffee breaks, again in the Redoubt Rooms of the Social Theater, Table Talks, invitation-only thematic workshops coordinated by AFAM Grand Tour partners, kick off. Topics include digitization and conservation, interaction design, new media, archaeology and digital art, textile enhancement and museum curatorship. The panel discussions are distributed in four historic halls: the Zodiac Hall, Judith Pasta Hall, Turkish Hall and White Hall.

The Genius Academies , on the other hand, are lectio magistralis dedicated mainly to students interested in the world of Digital Cultural Heritage, but not only. They are in fact open, free admission, with reservations required at the following links:
