After Ancona, Pontedera and Como, The AFAM Roadshow – Research. Creativity. Innovation continues its journey between higher education, visual culture and technological innovation. On June 24 it comes to Milan with “Emotions – Inclusive Colors and Textures,” a day entirely dedicated to the relationship between emotions, perception and contemporary art. The event takes place in a symbolic place of Milanese creativity: the Teatro Arcimboldi Milano, and with the involvement of the School of Musical Theater.

Organized by CNR ISPC, RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, IED, NABA and Scuola del Teatro Musicale, with the free patronage of Teatro degli Arcimboldi Milano, the Milan event confirms the Roadshow’s vocation as a widespread laboratory of research, experimentation and relationship between disciplines.

Emotions is the key word of the day and invokes a reflection on the power of visual languages, the power of inclusion, and the ability of art and design to touch intimate and collective chords. In Milan, colors and textures become expressive tools, means to narrate diversity and build connections between different identities, languages and media.

The event opens at 9 a.m. with the Opening, inaugural ceremony in the Foyer of the Arcimboldi Theater, in which the themes and appointments of the entire day are introduced, preceded by institutional greetings. To welcome: Fabio Mongelli (Director RUFA), Costanza Miliani (Acting Director CNR ISPC), Marco Iacomelli (Director STM), Danilo Venturi (Director IED Milan) and Elisa Poli (NABA Research Centre and Innovation Hub).

At 11 a.m., after coffee breaks, Table Talks, invitation-only thematic workshops coordinated by AFAM Grand Tour partners, kick off in the Classrooms of the School of Musical Theater. Digital Cultural Heritage, the key theme of the project, is investigated from multidisciplinary perspectives through discussions with experts in the field. The structure includes an introductory presentation, discussion sessions in parallel tables and a final collective return. Among the topics addressed: digital inclusivity, design and artistic processes for social iclusion, museum narratives, theater for textures and colors, and finally the aesthetics of pedaling for sustainable mobility.

The Genius Academies , on the other hand, are lectio magistralis dedicated mainly to students interested in the world of Digital Cultural Heritage, but not only. In fact, they are open, free admission, with reservations required:

3:00 – 4:30 pm
Duration: 90 minutes – Max. 25 participants

In parallel, for the entire day, the Pop-Up Show animates the Foyer of the Arcimboldi Theater with an exhibition of works from students and alumni of the Italian AFAM Academies, and from partners involved in the various educational and project paths.

The works in the exhibition can be visited from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., there is the Closing, a final panel intended to return voices, projects and reflections that emerged during the day. From the Stage of the Foyer of the Arcimboldi Theater, speakers include: Francesca Gollo (RUFA) and Alfonsina Pagano (CNR ISPC), Marco Iacomelli (STM Director), Gianmario Longoni (Show Bees Artistic Director), along with IED and NABA Professors and project referents.

A choral moment to close the Milan day of The AFAM Roadshow under the banner of discussion, participation and inclusion.
