The Golden Fall is one of the finalist projects of the GTA Contest curated by Michele Brez, Matteo Anghileri, Gabriele Dallari, Julia Hoa – students of NABA.
A 3D short film about the courage to endure in the face of the end.
The Golden Fall is a visual tale that stages the demise of an ancient civilization, suspended between myth and legend.
In an imaginary world with Mayan suggestions, a deity of death descends to Earth: his touch turns every living thing into gold. People become luminous statues, shining but immobile-symbols of eternal beauty and, at the same time, irreversible fate.
At the center of the story is a protagonist who is aware of his own demise. Yet, instead of giving up, he chooses to fight: a fragile but necessary gesture of resistance that becomes an act of love toward life and toward that which disappears.
The film aims to give voice to those who, in a society that exalts only success, choose the dignity of attempt, the beauty of endurance.
The Golden Fall celebrates the silent strength of those who fight even knowing they cannot win, reminding us that even in defeat there can be value and humanity.
Every element of the short film-from the characters to the monumental temples to the tiniest details of the vegetation-was made entirely in 3D.
Behind the screens in their rooms, with patience and passion, they brought to life a digital universe made of light and matter, where technique combines with emotion.
Thanks to motion capture, the deity of death comes to life with human movements and an almost tangible presence. Technology thus becomes an instrument of poetic expression, capable of making imagery real and giving substance to mystery.
