Staged from July 22 to 28, Between Festival aims to celebrate music and the Arts, offering a wide and prestigious bill with internationally renowned artists and from others, for the first time on the scene in Italy, on the theme of diversity, encounter and plural identities, of great depth and topicality.
In this setting, on July 24 in Piazza Cattedrale in Piazza Armerina, Saint Louis College of Music organized an evening with Nicola Piovani with his artistic project “Notes a Margine,” which pays homage to the figure of the great director Federico Fellini. In the wake of memories and anecdotes, the Maestro retraces some of the great encounters that marked his path, from Fellini, remembered with affection for his small foibles and mastery as a director, to the Taviani to Vincenzo Cerami and Roberto Benigni, with episodes narrated with lightness and sincerity. Life experiences between music, cinema, and theater that Piovani recounts, accompanying them with the notes of his piano, along with saxophone and double bass.
“Fellini is the Festival’s common thread,” stresses artistic co-director Roberto Grossi, “as a figure of reference, an undisputed emblem of a ‘universal’ vision of man, free of prejudices and stereotypes, who through the ‘dream’ succeeds in breaking down boundaries and barriers to rediscover the dimension of freedom, to express oneself, to be, to meet the other without fears or fears.
