The International Project Work in Luxury Shoes & Accessories, carried out by the Poliarte Academy of Fine Arts and Design, has successfully concluded.

An advanced training course in which foreign students, flanked by Poliarte alumni, worked closely with Tod’s, an icon of Made in Italy and today a major player in the production and distribution of luxury footwear, leather goods, clothing and accessories.

The workshop involved 10 foreign students, from institutions such as Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design (Jerusalem), LCI Barcelona, Ecole nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre (Brussels), University of Arts in Belgrade and L’école de Design Nantes Atlantique (Nantes), as well as 2 Italian students sent by a partner institution (the Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli in Como).

During the final presentation on Friday, Jan. 31, Tod’s contact persons evaluated proposals for reinterpretations of the famous moccasin with rubbers, designed to appeal to a younger target audience.

Coordinating the masterclass for Poliarte was lecturer Alessandro Ruffino, a fashion and interior designer who also specializes in footwear and accessories design, who guided the students in their search for solutions capable of combining tradition and contemporaneity in the world of luxury.

A valuable educational experience in which experimentation, design and innovation were the real stars.
